One of the greatest needs of all people everywhere is to make a real difference in the world around them. New Yorkers are activists who want to leave a legacy of significant change. We will extend the revolutionary love and mercy of Jesus to our city and world.
We can all make a real difference in the world using our vocational and recreational interests as platforms to transform neighborhoods and nations. We fulfill our biblical commission to be global and local activists when we express God’s love to redeem his created world.
Hope is a movement that flows from our neighborhoods to the nations when our vocational and recreational interests serve our call to follow God.
From Our Neighborhoods...
Without a genuine expression of compassion to the immediate community around us, why should anyone believe our expressed compassion for the entire world? Every Christ Community must actively express in practical terms the love of Jesus to the city.
All of life (work, war, politics, marriage, hunger, pain, fear, etc.) must be interpreted in light of the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus speaks to the deepest need and issues of all humanity.
To the Nations...
From the beginning, Jesus envisioned a world-wide movement. When He commissioned his followers to "go into all the world" he activated a world-wide mission. Christ Communities are blessed to be in a city to whom the world has come. Nevertheless, we must also "go" as carriers of his love.
