A Person We Believe
"A Community of Faith "
One of the greatest needs of all people everywhere is to believe in something greater than ourselves. New Yorkers are on a spiritual search for meaning and purpose. We believe a Christ Community is the perfect environment to explore the claims of Christ. We find that many New Yorkers are not anti-Jesus as much as they are anti-organized church.
For the already convinced, a Christ Community is a place where the we "encounter God together."
Church is not meant to be driven by a professional clergy. Instead, we trust God's plan that every person has a role in the community of faith. Every person is encouraged and allowed to use the God-given gifts and skills, to facilitate the rapid spread of the movement.
Faith is the conduit for loving God and living lives of radical obedience. Being godly doesn't mean being religious.
Loving God
Worship is about more than singing. In the context of a small Christ Community, worship can take the form and expression most natural and appealing to its' participants. Prayer, poetry and music are but a few of the forms by which a Christ Community can express love to God.
Living in Radical Obedience
Biblical convictions develop when divine truth is applied to life in interactive communities of faith. Jesus must be the center of every Christ Community. Radical obedience to his teachings is the standard. The study of scripture in an environment of prayer results in unequaled spiritual growth and depth.
